I read and I reread this book often. We are getting ready to build and this is one of the most helpful reads that I have found. If you buy this book, you WILL stay one step ahead of the game.
Rating: 4 / 5
This book is well written, and contains lots of tips for someone (like me) who does not have any experience dealing with a contractor.
Rating: 4 / 5
The essence of this book is to educate the homeowners to thoroughly prepare for their projects BEFORE embark on their projects. The author presented in a logical way how to make the required preparations. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because I wish more resources on technical ascpects of building/renovation are provided.
Rating: 4 / 5
Very well organized and in depth. This book is a detailed and practical guide to the process of building or remodeling that every owner needs before starting. Best I've read in terms of working with the key players and protecting your interests.
Rating: 5 / 5
I was so impressed with this book I left feedback for the first time. It is very comprehensive, and "levels the playing field" so that one can make intelligent decisions early in the building process and avoid costly mistakes. From site prep to contract types, this is a great read. It will definitely boost one's confidence in an area that few home buyers enter more than once.
