Internet problems on the laptop.?

First, do not bother with the "Vista is crap!" BS. I know. I can not downgrade very well at this point. However, after a while, my internet will stop. I mean, games connect fine. Instant messaging remains connected. Only my browser stops working. IE, Chrome, Firefox, and even steam and Games for Windows Live. The strangest thing I've ever seen. I have reinstalled my firewall, and scanning my system of adware, malware, virus, etc … Gateway, be useful as ever, but she just said to restore factory settings. I think not.
